Qualifications and Experience:
From the age of 16 I have been tutoring English at a beginner (A1-A2) level, normally to school children. This helped me discover my passion for teaching and made the decision to study to be a language teacher very easy. At 18 I began studying for 3 years qualifications in teaching (which is still in progress). During that time I have continued working as an English teacher as well as a Spanish teacher at a prestigious institute of Spanish in Puebla. From teaching in these different environments, I have gained a huge amount of experience teaching all ages, backgrounds, and class sizes

Teaching Approach:
As I mentioned in the previous section, I have many years experience teaching a huge variety of student and class types. From this, I've learned that no one approach fits all types of students. The first thing I would do with a student is to figure out their motivations, and attempt to adapt my approach to that. I have a lot of experience adapting my approach in this way as I have taught a huge variety of pupils. For certain types of students a more technical, grammar focused approach works very well, especially if they are motivated to supplement that with conversation practice and study outside the classroom. This type of approach usually would apply to people who have paid to study in an institute or are learning Spanish for employment.

Other types of classes, generally with children, or adults on holiday, require a more fun approach which won't overwhelm the student. In these cases I would generally focus on teaching approaches such as roleplays, and real world every day situations. In this situation, technical aspects such as grammar would be secondary and the primary focus would be on simply communicating.
